How We Work
You may think that all contractors work in basically the same way. We're different in this regard. Take a minute to learn about the things we believe are important when we work with our clients.We plan ahead.We try to avoid costly change orders by spending considerable time up front defining the project as precisely as possible, so we can anticipate opportunities and minimize surprises. We keep in touch.In addition to our daily contact with you on the job, we'll schedule weekly meetings to review our progress, make decisions, and go over any questions. We do more than pound nails.We are craftspeople, first and foremost. But we do have a strong sense of design, and can help create clever and cost-saving solutions to tricky problems. We always wipe our feet.We're keenly aware of how intrusive we are when we're in your home, and we want you to maintain an acceptable quality of life while we're there. We are easy to have around, we really enjoy what we do, and chances are we listen to the same radio stations you do. We care about our work today and tomorrow.We visit past jobs to inspect how gracefully they have aged, and to perform whatever small touch-ups may be required (for free, of course). We are continually refining and improving our techniques, products and designs to assure long-lasting satisfaction with our work. We give as good as we get.For us, commitments are a two-way street. We are able to do our very best work for clients who give us a strong commitment from the very start. The earlier you bring us in on your project, the more help we can offer in the design and conceptual stages. That means we can help head off problems down the road. We follow-up.The project does not end for us when the punch list is complete and the final payment made. We're keenly aware that the project we do for you may represent one of the biggest investments of your life, and that you expect and deserve lasting value for that investment. At the end of the project we'll give you a 3-ring binder "owner's manual" detailing how to care for various products we installed as part of the project and what to do if something goes wrong. We also come back at pre-set intervals for touch-ups and adjustments. Finally, we monitor your satisfaction over time with all components of the project, which enables us continuously to expand our knowledge base of the best and most enduring products and finishes, construction details, and design elements.
