It's human nature to want to capture space and civilize it. Attic eave and storage areas often provide the greatest temptation for this sort of renovation. The challenge is to make such new spaces light, airy, welcoming, but still practical and functional.

This 80-year-old Brookline home lacked a master suite commensurate with the quality of the house. Off the original tiled bathroom, tucked under the gambrel roof, was an unfinished storage area. With the right design and skilled execution we were able to incorporate that rough space into the bathroom suite. The result is a spacious dressing area accompanied by bath, toilet, and shower compartments which are fully integrated yet function as discrete spaces.
