Unfinished Patio Gets An Upgrade
A little stone goes a long way.
Sometimes the proximity and layout of a backyard make it a challenge to see the full potential of an outdoor space. This particular Brookline home is situated on a hill, creating a sloped backyard that leaves the homeowners with minimal outdoor space. The challenge was to create a sitting area and a visually appealing hillside for this family. We transformed this unusable outdoor space by covering the dirt landing with field stone to provide an area for the family to dine or entertain outdoors. Then we replaced the overgrown plantings and foliage with a wide variety of new plants and created a two-tiered stone wall that complements the stone landing and creates the great view from the kitchen the homeowners longed for.
