For this family of readers, converting their unused screen porch to a quiet sitting room gave them just the space they needed. We installed high windows toward the back and a large slider that opens the view toward the family’s garden. A new gas fireplace in the corner provides heat as well as a cozy atmosphere. A custom built wall of bookcases provides a sanctuary for reading. This renovation proved to be the right antidote inside and out for a screen porch in need of more than just a repair.
