The sooner we can get involved, the more effectively we can guide you, ensuring your vision aligns with practical and budgetary realities.

How Do I Get Started?

Getting started with Byggmeister is straightforward. Here’s what to do and what to expect:

  1. Prepare Your Ideas and Questions: Before getting in touch, spend some time reviewing our portfolio and process. Then, jot down your ideas, goals, and questions. Whether you want to improve accessibility, make your home more comfortable and efficient, enhance functionality, or some combination of these, creating your wish list and getting to know a bit about us will help facilitate a productive discussion.
  2. Get in Touch: Fill out the contact form on our website at byggmeister.com/contact, or, if you prefer, give us a call at 617-527-7871. Our business manager will gather some basic information about your project and schedule a consultation with one of our project managers.
  3. Consult with a Project Manager: This 30-minute consultation will take place via video or phone call. You’ll have a chance to dive into your goals, learn about process, and discuss key factors such as timeline and budget.
  4. Meet with a Project Manager at Your Home: The next step is an in-person site visit. This typically takes 60-90 minutes and includes a comprehensive walk-through, after which our project manager will share initial impressions, answer your questions, and discuss next steps.
  5. Meet the Team: If you come away from the site visit with a sense that Byggmeister would be a good fit for your project, our project manager will schedule a second site visit to introduce you to the team that would work with you to plan the project. You may also choose to speak to past clients as references at this point.

I’ve Chosen Byggmeister. Now What?

If you decide to move forward, we will execute a planning agreement and start on the design. Throughout the design process, we’ll provide pricing feedback at key points so you can make informed decisions about what to include in the project. Between these budget updates, our design team regularly consults with our construction team to ensure cost and constructability align with your vision. This helps us design simply and effectively, avoiding budgetary surprises and design rework. Depending on the scope of your project and the complexity of the permitting process, design typically takes between 9 and 18 months.

Once the design and costs are finalized, we’ll sign a construction agreement and begin bringing your vision to life. The key word here is "finalized" – we won’t start construction until every decision has been made, every detail pinned down, and hard quotes for materials and subcontractors secured. This is how we ensure your project is built on time, on budget, and to your satisfaction. For most of our design-build projects, construction takes between 3 and 6 months, depending on the scope.
